Ink Stain Removal - Water Based Ink

Your first step in ink stain removal is to determine what kind of ink it is. Water based ink is much easier to remove than permanent ink. Water based ink is commonly found in marking pens like Crayola and some writing pens.

You should first try to apply water to the stain. Get as much of the stain out that way as possible. Next, try to blot out the stain with a clean towel. Be careful not to rub the stain as that will most likely just make the ink stain worse.

If the ink stain remains, try putting some of your laudry detergent on the stain and letting it sit. Wash the stain with water after 5 minutes or so and keep repeating those steps until the stain is removed. Ink stain removal is not necessarily a science but just requires persistence.
