Ink Stain Removal - Use Water To Keep The Stain Wet

Many of the inks of today dry very quickly and leave a permanent mark. They are made that way because that is what people want. We don't like to wait around for ink to dry. Unfortunately, when you get an ink stain, this quick drying hurts our ability to remove ink stains.

If you act right away, ink stain removal is possible. Ballpoint pen ink is harder than fountain pen ink because it goes on dryer. It is always easier to remove ink stains when they are wet as opposed to when they are dry and imbedded in the fabric. Dry ink stains removal is very difficult.

If you suddenly realize that you have an ink stain, hopefully you will be somewhere where you will have access to the things you need to remove the stain. The most important thing is to not let the ink stain dry up. Use cold water to do that if you can. and then you will be able to remove the stain easier.

Never soak the ink stain in hot water...always use cold water. Many people will naturally soak it in hot water thinking that will help dissolve the ink stain but it will only make it worse. What it does is sets the stain making it near impossible to get out later. Remember, always use cold water for ink stain removal and never hot water.
